Lyttelton: Not so little anymore

With a long and sometimes difficult history, Centurion has come a long way to the sprawling development of urbanicity it is today. In fact, it wasn’t even Centurion to begin with, but initially developed from the Lyttelton Township that was marked out on the farm Droogegrond in 1904. From there, Centurion was granted City Council status in 1962 as Lyttelton, combining the areas of Doornkloof, Irene and Lyttelton.

Today, Lyttelton has developed into one of the most sought after suburbs in Centurion, owing much to various new property developments, and its close proximity to the Centurion Gautrain Station and the well renowned Netcare Unitas hospital.

What’s for dinner?
If you’re new to the area and don’t fancy cooking tonight, why not head off to Jean Crossing for a bite? The center offers various eating options from Fukuda Sushi Restaurant for those who live on the raw side of life, to RocoMamas and their delectable Smash burgers and Freak Shakes, or Salsa Mexican Grill for a festival of flavour in your mouth. If you don’t feel like going out after packing out, order some pizza from Rebels across from Hoërskool Centurion and enjoy the authenticity of home-made flavour.

What’s happening?
Lyttelton is also a stone’s throw from Centurion Mall and Irene Village Mall, each of which offers their own unique experiences to the interested shopper. Take note that Centurion Mall is currently under construction and some of the shops may be indisposed.

Who’s too cool for school?
Lyttelton hosts a collection of good schools, including Fleur Primary School, Laerskoool Louis Leipoldt, and Lyttelton Primary School for the kids. For the teens, look no further than Hoërskool Centurion or Lyttelton Manor High School to achieve all their academic, cultural, or sport-related dreams!

All roads lead to Lyttelton?
Lyttelton is a centrally located suburb, with easy access to all main roads and high ways, including the N1 and N14, so you can get anywhere you want to go with ease. Did we mention it’s also in close proximity to the Centurion Gautrain Station, which offers quick and direct access to Johannesburg, Midrand, and Pretoria?

No matter the reason, choosing to buy in Lyttelton will never be a wrong choice!
